Barcelona claim Zenit owe them $525,000 because of a clause in the transfer deal that saw Malcom join the Russian club in 2019. As part of that deal, Zenit were required to pay Barcelona 490,000 Euro ($525,000) each time they qualified for the Champios League in a season where Malcom had played at least half their domestic league games.

But FIFA ruled last year that Zenit didn’t have to pay that money after they were excluded from the 2022-23 Champions League season as part of a UEFA ban on Russian clubs.

The CAS said on Wednesday it has scheduled a hearing on March 22 to resolve the dispute.
